Delete your Katkee account

In the Katkee app

1. Go to your profile and tap Settings.
2. Tap Delete account.
3. Confirm it's you: enter your password, or confirm with your Google account or phone number if that's how you sign in.
4. Tap Delete account, then confirm.

If you can't use the app

Email privacy@katkee.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account" and your username. We'll confirm the account is yours before deleting it, and reply when it's done.

What happens to your data

• At once: your account and everything you posted become unavailable, and you're signed out on every device.
• Within 30 days: your Stories, photos, messages, profile, any feedback you sent and crash reports from your app are deleted and the account is scrubbed.
• Kept for 180 days, because Indian law requires it: the details you registered with (username, email address, date of birth and sign-in identifiers), kept apart and used only to answer lawful requests, then deleted.
• Kept longer, only where needed: content a moderator removed is kept for up to 180 days as evidence, security records for up to 400 days, and copies in backups are gone when the backups expire, within a year.
